Johan Muyle’s exhibition Fortunately thoughts are silent opened at Electro Studios Project Space (ESPS) on Friday 3 October 2014. It runs until 26 October and is open Saturday & Sunday from 12.00-17.00 & by appointment.

Johan Muyle is a Belgian artist with an international career who lives & works in Liège & Bruxelles. His work is characterised by dialogue & unique interconnections. Whether in the form of motorised assemblages or large scale installations, visual & formal paradoxes are the stimulus for a critical reading of culture & society. Muyle’s work engages the viewer in an analytical evaluation of their cultural assumptions, which have become highly destabilised in an era of image overload & globalisation.

Fortunately thoughts are silent features motorised sculptures, drawing & photographs, some of which document his recent intervention at St Benedict in St Leonards.

Dan Bass’s project ‘Work’ opened on Friday 26 September at The SPACE & The Kiosk in Bottle Alley.

His installation of four trestle structures with vibrant colour photos, a humorous acknowledgement to Robert Tressell, is attracting attention from local residents & passers-by. In Bottle Alley, Bass has installed three photo montages with images reflecting aspects of the world of work.

A Q&A session with the artist takes place at Electro Studios Project Space on Saturday 18 October from 19.00-20.30.
