Artist Billboard 2 (AB2) is the second edition of commissions by diverse internationally acclaimed artists on an outdoor billboard-like hoarding in the public realm at The SPACE, St John’s Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

The works can be viewed from pavement and street level from dawn to dusk.

Balearic Appropriationist Map – BAM – by Marcos Vidal Font was displayed from Spring-Summer 2023

Marcos Vidal Font lives in Sineu, Mallorca in the Balearic Islands and exhibits extensively in Spain and most recently in Cuba and Chile, experimenting with the location of his work, both in exhibitions and public spaces. He hosts international residencies at Espai San Marc Air.

BAM is inspired by Vidal Font’s collection of over one hundred silkscreen prints of logos of former companies, bars and restaurants in the Balearic Islands of Mallorca and Menorca which were impacted by the global economic crisis of the late 2000s. In this work, he draws parallels between the economic downturn and the global crisis of Covid 19 in the early 2020s, questioning how these times might be remembered in the future.
